Gillian is a Non-Executive Director and member of the Finance & Audit Committee.
My journey with Kudos began in early 2017, before the formation of the mutual enterprise. Along with the Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals (BCCM), I had the great privilege of working with the South Australian Government and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to support the public servants, who are now the Kudos Members, to become an employee-controlled mutual. I was elected by Members to join the Board in 2019.
I was inspired to join Kudos having watched the founding Kudos members embrace mutuality and take the bold step of voting to leave the government to set up their own employee-controlled mutual.
Since joining the Board, I am so encouraged by how Kudos Members have shaped their mutual and taken ownership of how to bring it to life since its original concept.
I have worked in the health and social care sectors for many years, for local government and in senior executive roles with the NSW Government in community services, housing, disability services and aged care. I left Government to take on larger strategic and operational roles, including as CEO of Uniting Care Ageing, one of Australia’s largest aged care providers. In the last decade, my career interests have been in the Co-operatives and Mutuals sector, working as the Social Care Adviser with the BCCM. I currently also serve on the Board for Stride Mental Health, Barnardos Australia and as a board adviser to Common Equity Housing.
I see a great future for Kudos Services. Whilst there are challenges to navigate, the groundwork has been laid. Kudos is well-placed to harness its potential and grow into other areas to have an even greater impact on people’s lives and communities.< Back to our board
