Speech Pathology

Speech pathologists for children and young people

Our registered NDIS speech pathologists help children and young people in Adelaide and regional South Australia who have difficulties with communicating - speaking, listening and using language effectively. We develop speech therapy programs for kids (9+), adolescents and young adults and introduce alternative communication methods when necessary.

Speech Pathology with Kudos

When you work with Kudos, we become part of your team and you become part of ours. No matter where you are today and where you want to go tomorrow, our friendly and experienced team is on your team and we’re here to help.

If your child or young person has funding for Speech Therapy in their NDIS plan, our team can provide personalised assessment and intervention to support speech and language development, communication, social skill development, and mealtime support.

Our team can also provide personalised recommendations regarding alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) when this approach is beneficial.

Every child and young person we work with has a program tailored to their unique needs. We meet you wherever works best for you – at home, school or even the park. Our team also includes occupational therapists, developmental educators, physiotherapists and other specialists who work together closely to support you when needed.

Get in touch to find out more about our specialist services or to book an appointment with one of our friendly therapists. Please contact us here or send an email to [email protected].

  • When I first meet your child or loved one, the most important thing is to really develop that sense of trust and connection in our first meeting.

I have Speech Therapy in my NDIS plan, are Speech Therapy and Speech Pathology the same?
Search Open

Yes, they are – we are known as speech therapists, speech pathologists and of course our lovely nickname – speechies!

How do you make children or teenagers feel comfortable if they are nervous?
Search Open

We give it time and avoid putting any pressure on the child or young person. We use places and activities that are familiar and motivating, and include people who can support them in sessions such as a parent, sibling or a friend. Children and young people gain a sense of pride in their skills as sessions focus on activities they can succeed in. And of course, we make it fun!

Can you help if my child has trouble at meal times and eating safely?
Search Open

Yes. Speech Pathologists are trained to assess mealtime skills and safe swallowing. We can write a plan (Oral eating and drinking care plan) with recommendations for safe eating and drinking.

Where do the sessions take place?
Search Open

Our sessions can happen at school, home, our office, and just about anywhere in the community that is a comfortable place for the person we work with.

Do you also work with teachers?

We always communicate with the person’s whole team –  it is important to work together to share our strategies and ideas to make sure that the child or young person is supported by everyone around them. This can include teachers, parents, grandparents, other health professionals or support workers – the best support happens when we have everyone working together.
